Pre-Kindergarten Program for 4 Year Olds
Monday through Friday from 8:45 am to 12:30 pm
Program Description
Our curriculum is theme based, developmentally appropriate and child oriented with a focus on preparing your child for the Kindergarten experience. Our experienced teachers prepare a creative environment where each child is treated as an individual; they are helped to develop to their greatest potential and to fostering a love of learning.
This program offers a variety of experiences which promote social, emotional and intellectual growth in a combination of structured teacher directed activities and free choice activities.
Your child will develop Pre-Reading and writing skills with a combination of the Harcourt Brace Trophies Language Arts program and the use of Kid Writing while developing math readiness skills using the Everyday Math series.
Our class size is limited to 12 children with a teacher and an assistant.
Teaching Staff
Elizabeth (Beth) Wager, BS, Teacher, Pre-Kindergarten
Beth worked as served in a variety of teaching positions in both public and private schools. She also served as the director of the Hatboro YMCA for five years. Prior to joining SUMCLC, Beth was the head kindergarten and three year olds at Kindercare in Warminster. Beth received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Temple University.
Cheryl Bray, AA, Pre-Kindergarten Assistant
Cheryl worked as a toddler teacher at ABC123 Daycare and Learning Center in Penn’s Park, PA, as a nanny for two local families and as a substitute teacher at Trinity Day School. With a son in the New Hope-Solebury School District, Cheryl is very active as a volunteer in the District. Cheryl received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Bucks County Community College.
Marisa Yarger, BA, Pre-Kindergarten Assistant
Marisa worked as a substitute teacher at St. Paul’s Preschool in Warrington and as an assistant teacher/head teacher at Family of God Preschool working with the three year old class and the Pre-Kindergarten classes before joining SUMCLC. She has also volunteered at her local elementary school, was a member of the PTA, a brownie troop leader and homeroom mother. Marisa received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Holly Family College.
