Pre-Kindergarten Plus Program for 5 Year Olds
(a program for 5 year olds not quite ready for Kindergarten)
Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm
Program Description
This program provides a unique curriculum for the child who is not quite ready for the Kindergarten experience. This specialized program provides the “gift of time” and a further opportunity to prepare soon to be kindergarteners with longer hours and more skill development so they will be ready for the full day kindergarten being offered in many of the schools in our area.
The curriculum offers a variety of experiences which promote social, emotional and intellectual growth. Your child will continue to build on literacy skills with a combination of the Harcourt Brace Trophies Language Arts program, Kid Writing, monthly author studies and Let’s Find Out magazine. Math skills will be developed using the Everyday Math series and math is incorporated all throughout the day. The Science program provides opportunities for hands-on learning with the Celebrate Science series.
The classroom environment allows for each child to develop a strong sense of self and to develop into independent, enthusiastic learners.
