Our Church
Our Organization
Administrative Council
Lay Leader serves in partnership with Pastor Sunil and staff members as the
primary advocate for and representative to the laity in our congregation.
Committee on Lay Leadership prayerfully identifies the
gifts and talents of our congregation, recruits and nurtures leaders and Ministry members for
our various Ministries to fulfill God's purposes for SUMC while focusing on our mission and vision.
Staff-Parish Relations (SPR) serves in a human resources capacity and provides support and guidance to
the SUMC staff to complement and realize the goals set forth for our church and SUMC's mission to our local community
and beyond.
Board of Trustees manages our church properties, equipment and investments to support our vision
and mission for SUMC.
Finance identifies and manages the financial system of SUMC by raising,
managing and dispersing our finances so that the mission and vision of our congregation can be achieved.
Discipleship and Stewardship Ministry is responsible for SUMC's annual Stewardship campaign
for our church budget. In addition, it identifies programs for our congregation that include workshops,
seminars and small groups so they can become more connected to our church family and help them to identify and
to learn how to use their special gifts and talents in service to God and our community
Building Steering manages the development of the design and use plan for our new sanctuary that we hope to
begin construction for in the near future. They will explore the building design, interior layout, square footage,
etc., etc., etc. They have also developed our new Capital Building Campaign to raise funds for our current mortgage
and the new sanctuary.
Children's Learning Center Ministry partners with parents to provide a
Christian-based learning experience that celebrates the uniqueness of each child who attends SUMC's preschool,
pre-kindergarten, early 3's and extended care programs.
Members-at-Large
represent the general interests of the church body and help guide the Administrative Council
deliberations on SUMC's role of mission and ministry in our community.

Missions and Outreach Ministry reaches out to people within and outside SUMC
with the love of Jesus Christ. They help translate this love into action through SUMC's involvement in many areas
of social need and concern in the community and beyond.
Communications Ministry helps our congregation share our Christian message with each other and the community
through a variety of communications vehicles including our newsletter, Sole Food; our website; posters and flyers;
brochures, press releases, photo releases, etc.
Worship Arts/Design Ministry provides relevant worship settings
for our congregation and others who come to experience the reality of Jesus in fellowship and witness
through a variety of worship experiences.
Parish Care Ministry cares for members of the congregation who are not able to regularly
attend worship and/or who are in need of assistance with meals, transportation, hospital/home visits, etc.
In addition, they create a warm, welcoming, environment amongst our church family filled with the Spirit of God.
They sponsor special events that allow our church family to enhance their spirituality, bring visitors into our
church and identify opportunities to bring the congregation together in fellowship.
Christian Education Ministry provides programs to help our congregation and communities develop a
relationship with God and to grow and serve as Christian disciples. These programs include Sunday School, Vacation
Bible School, Creative Christian Kids, Bible study groups and Nursery Care.
Youth Group. At SUMC our goal is to provide a well-defined, Biblically-based and
Christ-centered youth ministry that will equip our young people to live Godly lives.
Adult Ministries
United Methodist Women's Ministry (UMW) is a missional organization of women who nurture and encourage
one another in their spiritual growth and personal development while focusing on ministries with women, children and youth
through local and global mission programs. At SUMC we have two UMW groups-one that meets during the day and the
Ruth Circle that meets in the evening
United Methodist Men's Ministry (UMMen). The mission of the UMM is to strengthen the spiritual
life of men at SUMC; to become partners in ministry with Pastor Sunil; to connect with young people (especially young men);
and to have an accountable male friend in Christ.
