Program Description
Our curriculum is theme based, developmentally appropriate and child oriented. Our experienced teachers prepare a creative environment where children grow and learn through active exploration and interaction with materials.
This program offers a variety of experiences which promotes social, emotional and intellectual growth. Your child will receive a balance of academics and learning through play. The day includes many activities within a schedule that is flexible and child centered. The classroom provides an open structured environment which offers learning centers allowing children to make choices and helping them to develop to their greatest potential.
Your child will be able to enjoy being a child while playing, learning and growing in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our class size is limited to 12 children with a teacher and an assistant.
Teaching Staff
Colleen Reedy, BS, Director/Preschool Teacher
Colleen has been a preschool/pre-kindergarten and kindergarten teacher for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining the Children’s Learning Center, she was with The Learning Depot in Trenton, NJ. Having started her teaching career with the Rainbow Academy For Little Scholars in Ivyland, PA, Colleen has also held positions with Crossroads County Day School in Warrington, PA, Justice Juniors in Trenton, NJ and Just Children in Trevose, PA, where she was the program director. A Penn State University graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, Colleen is certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. She has worked at the CLC for 11 years, since its opening in 2004.
Karen Malleck, AS, Preschool Assistant
Karen worked as a teacher’s assistant at Trinity Nursery School in Buckingham, PA and has been a frequent volunteer in the Central Bucks County school district and has assisted with the CCD program at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Doylestown. She graduated from Bay Path Junior College in Longmeadow, MA with an Associate’s Degree in Science. Karen has worked for the CLC for 7 years.
Cheryl Bray, AA, Preschool Assistant
Cheryl worked as a toddler teacher at ABC123 Daycare and Learning Center in Penn’s Park, PA, as a nanny for two local families and as a substitute teacher at Trinity Day School. With a son in the New Hope-Solebury School District, Cheryl is very active as a volunteer in the District. Cheryl received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Bucks County Community College. Cheryl has worked at the CLC for 8 years.
